CampCircle
Privacy Notice
Effective August 11, 2026. CampCircle is currently a limited-alpha service, so these notices describe the product as it exists today and may change as the service matures.
Back to CampCircleInformation adults provide
CampCircle may store account email, parent display name, family name, child first name or nickname, an adult-selected CampCircle child icon, optional controlled child interest categories, optional child birth date and exact-summer entering grade, camp names and dates, plan status, exact-date private Family events and optional family-supplied labels, trusted circles, memberships, invitations, sharing choices, and account activity events needed to operate the service.
Family privacy
CampCircle has no child accounts, and children are not publicly searchable. Camp plans are private by default.
Plans become visible to another family only when their child is selected to share eligible plans with a qualifying trusted circle. A parent can keep an exact plan private from one circle, and shared plans stay read-only for the receiving family.
Plan sharing is scoped to that summer's planning season. Other-family access expires after September 30, so a family joining a circle in a later season does not gain access to older schedules. Keeping an exact plan private ends that circle's access sooner.
The owning family keeps its own past plans. Sharing metadata may remain as owner-visible account history after circle access expires or is manually ended, without granting ongoing access to another family.
Child icons and interest categories are supplied by an adult and remain within the family workspace. Sharing a camp plan does not automatically expose those preferences to trusted-circle families.
Optional birth date and exact-summer entering grade are family-private matching details. CampCircle may use them to hide a Camp idea only when a verified provider rule makes the child clearly ineligible. These details are not added to camp plans or shared with trusted circles, Trusted Families, Camp Buddy families, camp providers, or other families.
An adult may select one or more children to participate in an invite-only trusted circle. Active members of that circle can see each selected child's first name or nickname and family association. That roster does not make the child publicly searchable or automatically disclose interests, selected profile icons, availability, or private camp plans.
Leaving or removal ends access to the family's children in the active circle roster. CampCircle may retain participation history internally after removal to support account integrity and activity records, without keeping that child visible in the active roster.
An adult may add exact-date private Family events for one or more selected children and may add a short, family-supplied label. Family events remain inside the owning family workspace and support summer planning, schedule-overlap detection, and personalization of sessions the family can already see. They are not shared with trusted-circle members, Camp Buddy families, camp operators, or camp providers, and they do not change plan sharing.
Family event labels should not contain medical information, precise locations, travel itineraries, or other unnecessary sensitive information. Removed and historical Family event records may remain internally during the limited alpha for account integrity and debugging without becoming visible to other families.
An adult may privately identify other children who actively participate in the same trusted circle as Camp buddies for planning personalization. Those choices are visible only to the selecting family. Selected families are not notified, and the choices create no friendship request, reciprocal signal, popularity count, or access to plans or profile data. They are used only to rank circle plans the selecting family can already see. Active use ends when either relevant circle participation ends. Removed preference history may remain internally during the limited alpha for account integrity and abuse or security review.
How child preferences are used
CampCircle uses selected icons and optional interests to operate and personalize the family workspace. Camp Ideas use selected interests as the primary matching signal. When optional birth date or exact-summer entering grade is available, CampCircle may exclude only clear mismatches against verified provider rules. Other ideas may have unknown requirements or still need exact date and provider confirmation.
Nearby Camp ideas
A signed-in family may optionally save a ZIP code or city and state to focus Camp Ideas within a selected radius. CampCircle does not ask for a home street address. The saved area and its derived coordinates stay family-private and are used only to calculate straight-line distance to canonical camp locations, not driving time. They are not shared with circles, Trusted Families, Camp Buddies, or camp providers, and exact origin coordinates are not displayed to other families.
Saved accounts and demo mode
Saved-account information is stored to operate the family workspace, trusted circles, sharing, and access controls.
Demo state is browser-only, may reset, and does not grant saved family or circle access outside that browser state.
Service providers and advertising
Service providers may process information needed to operate and secure CampCircle. CampCircle currently has no advertising or behavioral-marketing system.
Limited-alpha requests
Self-service deletion and export are not yet available during limited alpha. Privacy questions may be sent to the configured support address when one is available. Future changes will update this notice and effective date.
